The climate is mild with four beautiful seasons. The atmosphere is unrushed and relaxing. Fairfield Bay is 75 miles north of Little Rock, Arkansas’ capital, and approximately two hours south of Branson, Missouri. Memphis, Tennessee, is about three hours away.
In Fairfield Bay, you can be as active or laid-back as you want! Our Recreation Department (501-884-6008) oversees a world of fun, from volleyball, basketball, a children’s park and horseshoes, etc., at Woodland Mead Park to our three refreshing outdoor pools. Miniature golfing climbs to the next level now that Fairfield Bay’s exciting championship course. The Bay View Club pool has a breathtaking view of our beautiful lake. Hiking backwoods paths, such as Indian Hills Falls Trail are here for the more adventurous. The Hart Center, a 23,000-square-foot fitness center, is open for membership and/or Silver Sneakers. A bowling center is located in the Village Mall.
Our area of the Natural State abounds in natural beauty and sights. Indian Rock Cave (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) is a short hike from our Log Cabin Museum and one of three historic Totem Poles. Outside the Bay, you can take a day trip to Mountain View’s Ozark Folk Center State Park with its demonstrations of native arts and crafts, and the impressive Blanchard Springs Caverns, Ozark Heritage Art Center in Leslie or wineries at Altus. Bus excursions are also offered to area sights, shopping and events.
Lakewood Village Mall should be your first stop for sweets and fashions, art gallery, tanning salong, hairdresser, real estate companies, auto repair, all weather golf shop, bowling center, banks, insurance and financial services, etc. The pharmacy, library, and medical clinic are located adjacent to the Mall. The Fairfield Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Information Office at 383 Dave Creek Parkway (501-884-3324) can provide you with maps and area information. Try the restaurants at the Indian Hills Country Club, Bogie’s at Mountain Ranch Golf Course, StringbeanZ, Jansen’s, Jacks, Goodwin & Daughters. A supermarket, retail store, and storage units are located on Highway 16 in Fairfield Bay.
