If it’s art you love then you will love Fairfield Bay. Fairfield Bay has become known for being an arts community. One of many artists who have shown is Mary Shelton, a pen and ink artist who is exhibiting at the Fairfield Library through May 1. The North Central Arkansas Art League, NCAAL, is an active group of local artists in and around Fairfield Bay who are promoting the arts in the community and surrounding area. You don’t have to be a professional to join this group; it consists of beginners to professional artists of all ages. This group of artists meets weekly to paint and share their talents through exhibits in the community. Workshops with nationally known artists are offered to the membership and art enthusiast throughout the year. Come join in and be a part of the arts community or visit one of the exhibits. You can find the artist’s work are on display at the Fairfield Bay and Greer’s Ferry libraries, Ozark Medical Center, local banks, Indian Rock Village, Indian Hills Country Club, Fairfield Bay Community Club, and the Senior Center. NCAAL meets Mondays from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Greenwood Building, HWY 330 at Greenwood, next to the Fire Station. Member’s paintings are on display for viewing and sale at the Bayside Gallery in the Greenwood Building during Monday’s meetings and by appointment. It’s almost time for Valentine’s Day and what better way to spend it than in Fairfield Bay, where Stas Productions presentation ‘Love Letters’. This production will be at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, located at 250 Dave Creek Parkway, in Fairfield Bay on February 14, Valentine’s Day, at 6 p.m. Stas Productions is a small theater company with a big impact on the community. Several plays are well attended throughout the year with local talent dedicated to presenting quality programs and productions, with proceeds going to the Fairfield Bay Library. Come early and have a great lunch or early dinner at one of Fairfield Bay’s wonderful dining establishments. Have a lovely time and experience the romance of Fairfield Bay!

Get ready for fabulous feasts in February in Fairfield Bay! There are two fun events planned for early February; Indian Rock Village Auxillary will host a ‘Pancake Supper’ on February 4th at the Lions Den. This supper will take place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. They are asking for a $6.00 donation, with all proceeds going to Indian Rock Village residents for their needs and events. Also on February 4th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. the VFW Ladies Auxilary will host an ‘All You Can Eat Meatloaf Dinner’ at the VFW on Highway 330. Bring your friends and family, everyone is welcome to enjoy these meals. Be sure to watch for updates for other Valentine’s Day dining events in Fairfield Bay as plans are finalized. Bring your sweetheart and enjoy the serene atmosphere here in the Fairfield Bay. Life just couldn’t be sweeter!

Do you having trouble getting started with your New Year’s Resolutions? Two at the top of my list are more exercise and fun with friends. Well, if getting more exercise is on your list, then Fairfield Bay is the place to be! You can start with bowling at Spare Time bowling ally, where you can have fun with friends, and get some exercise. If you haven’t been for a while or are new at bowling, Tim will give you some pointers. It’s a fun atmosphere at Spare Time, you can bowl, play pool, and there’s video games. It’s a great family place or get together place for friends! If you want some fresh air on one of these beautiful days we are having, head on over to Indian Hills Country Club for some golf lessons or 18 holes with a group of friends. It’s just a great place to be outdoors. If you are more of an indoors exercise enthusiast, check out the Hart Center where you will find an indoor heated pool, exercise room, indoor walking, indoor basketball and classes. You can even find a personal assistant! You may just like walking or hiking with friends. After your hike you may just find yourself at the 19th Hole with some refreshments and conversation with your friends about how wonderful Fairfield Bay is!

In one word how would you describe Fairfield Bay? Beautiful. Serene. Picturesque. Well the truth is, you just can’t describe it in one word. There are so many wonderful things about Fairfield Bay that one word cannot describe. Fairfield Bay is a natural wonder with the beautiful gardens, parks, forests, streams and Greers Ferry Lake. Whether you like walking, hiking, birding, gardening, photography or just sitting in the park there is something for everyone. There are many lovely views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Sugar Loaf Mountain is favored by many and a great place to hike and picnic. On any given day you can spot a variety of wildlife. In addition, the city is very well maintained and clean. It’s just the ideal peaceful, quaint, paradise….well there goes the words again. Come visit and find your own definition!
